Alpine Touring (AT) program at the backcountry festival

The Backcountry festival, being held at Hotham over the weekend of September 7 and 8, aims to ‘celebrate all things backcountry’ and cover all human powered outdoor winter sports from snow shoeing to splitboarding.

There are a number of tours aimed specifically at people who will be on Alpine Touring (also known as “Randonnée” or “AT”) bindings. These trips are perfect for people who normally ski in resort as AT uses gear that allows you to unlock the heel for touring and lock down for the downhill, allowing you to turn as you would on your normal gear.
